All Ireland Roller Derby News

  • Team All-Ireland vs SSRG!

    Hey all,

Well, after a weekend of watching lots of rollerderby (and taking notes on potential competition for the World Cup!) I thought it might be wise to keep the 'derby bandwagon rolling and update you all on what Team All-Ireland are getting up to.

We had a team practice a few weekends ago (which unfortunately I couldn't make - sad face) and are really starting to gel nicely as a team, so of course the next logical step is to get out there and play as a team. So we are!

We'll be playing the lovely Sheffield Steel Roller Girls in a closed door bout in October. It's a closed door event, so we won't be advertising it out to spectators, but it's a fantastic opportunity for us to play as a team, instead of against each other all the time!

Of course we'll let you know how we get on ... and of course we're going to win :) (hopefully!)

We've also got talks of other teams we're looking to play against - for very up to date information, keep tabs on our facebook page, although I'll try and update all of the news on here too!

We've also confirmed our Vice Captain, which I hadn't announced last time - congratulations to the lovely Jessica Mooney who has been voted in as VC. That's a pretty strong Captain and Vice Captain lined up already!

So lots of excitement, lots happening here, however ... in the meantime, please feel free to order a teeshirt, or pass on some cents, pennies, euros, pounds, dollars and other currency through our donate button on the homepage - as well as helping a new sport to take off and be well represented in Ireland, any assistance means the rollergirls and guys can concentrate on getting their game on, instead of spending time raising funds. We'll send you thanks by kicking booty on track :)

Til next time, hugs and shoves,

    Holly
